I’M SUPER EXCITED TO LAUNCH THIS PROJECT, WHICH IS A SPACE FOR A DEEPER DIVE INTO THE ‘WHY’ BEHIND MY MISSION AS AN ARTIST

My quarterly art JOURNAL, A Hidden Glory, is a blend of my reflections and artwork.

In it I share thoughts and reflections on connections between our interior lives and the world around us - exploring themes of wonder, beauty, encounter with a loving God, and the human heart.

My hope is to invite you into the deeper meaning behind my artwork, but also give you space for your own contemplative encounters as we delve what it means to practice ‘sacramental vision’.

A LOOK AT THE FIRST 5 VOLUMES:

  • Breaks open the themes surrounding the title I gave this journal series, ‘A Hidden Glory’. Explores why and how we seek to see past the surface level of things, to the deeper level of the mysteries which point us to the divine.

  • Wonder is a key trait that helps us learn to perceive God as he reveals himself to us. This volume explores the different facets of wonder and how to cultivate it in our daily lives.

  • Another key trait in developing a habitual posture of receptivity when it comes to encountering God. Its easier said than done, and this volume explores why that is and offers ways to practice.

  • This volume explores themes of human transformation, painting a broad vision of the human life as a pilgrimage in reclaiming our identity to become an image of the living God.

  • Paints a picture of ‘where we’re going’ on our earthly pilgrimage, so that we can seek an eternal perspective in our day to day, and free ourselves from distraction as we focus on our destination.

RELEASE PLAN + How you can help:

It’s important to me that this booklet is accessible, despite being a high-quality print edition, which is why I plan to offer these on a suggested-donation basis at a couple levels, one at $7.50 to cover the costs of production + shipping, and another at $14 for those that can help cover costs in a more sustainable way, allowing me to spend time working on these and other ministry-minded projects.

I also plan to offer the first volume completely free to everyone, with the hopes that easy initial access will get it into the hands of more people.

With all that in mind, there are upfront costs associated with getting this project off the ground, as I basically need funding for the entire first volume.

I have the first volume written and ready to go, now its just a matter of funding before I can send it off to the printer!

PRINT QUALITY:

Downloadable PDF’s are a popular thing these days, but for this journal, I want to make it available only as a print edition.

I want your experience of reading this journal to be a tangible, screen-free encounter with reality, through a high-quality booklet that allows you to sit, leisure, and pray as you read. I believe this will help foster a more contemplative experience for my readers, which is so integral to my mission as a whole.

It’ll be printed on a weighty paper, with velvety cover and binding that allow it to last as a collectible edition.

Sequential release:

I plan to offer these journals based on a backstart subscription model, meaning you always receive Vol. 1 when you first subscribe and then receive the sequence in order. This is common for more collectible-type editions that work as a cohesive whole. Since much of the content I hope to share builds off of itself, I’m excited to offer a subscription based on this model.
