Sacramental Vision Ministries exists to come alongside you in the work of renewal God is doing in your heart - through beauty, contemplation, & practice of prayerful attention.
Welcome! I’m Maddy, an artist who’s passionate about vision.
I started this ministry out of a recognition of just how distracted and fragmented our vision is, and when I say ‘vision’, I mainly mean our inner spiritual vision, the way we perceive things, based on our thought patterns, and what we believe about God and ourselves.
On a given day, I may wake up spiritually renewed, confident in who I am because of who I know the Lord is.
But many days I wake up with a different narrative in my head -
Hyper-focused on goals I may have, distracted by thoughts that overwhelm or worry me, disillusioned or disoriented in my prayer life and doubtful of God’s goodness…
It’s in our fallen human nature to see things in pieces and lose sight of the big picture: God in his goodness - our ultimate goal and the place we should sustain our attention, both because God is worth it & also because we need it.
BUT there are practices we can put in place so that we aren’t interiorly led astray each time a discouragement or distraction creeps in.
The purpose of this ministry is to provide spiritual resources for the restoration of sacramental vision,
to aid us in becoming attentive to the present moment and allow our circumstances & the beauties and pains of this world to point us back to God.
PROJECTS:
A GUIDE TO VISIO DIVINA: PRAYING WITH THE EYES OF THE HEART, IS A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO PRAYING WITH ART & YOUR SURROUNDINGS.
IT ALSO TEACHES ABOUT ‘SACRAMENTAL VISION’ AND HOW WE CAN BEGIN CULTIVATING IT.
The first core initiative we plan to develop OVER THE COURSE OF A YEAR is Fully Alive retreats, where artists will present their work in an environment designed for contemplative engagement. More than an art exhibition, these immersive retreats will invite guests to slow down, cultivate wonder, pray with their surroundings, and learn to see with renewed eyes. Our hope is that, through beauty, participants will become more deeply attuned to the Lord's presence and His ongoing work of renewal within themselves and in the world.

As support grows, we will be able to devote ourselves fully to creating experiences and resources that help participants cultivate attentiveness to God’s presence.
